Morro Bay City Council plans to hire an interim city attorney

The Morro Bay City Council decided Tuesday to hire an interim city attorney while the search continues for someone to serve permanently in that position. The decision came at a special meeting held after the council decided to part ways with Robert Schultz who had been the city attorney. Mayor Jamie Irons and the council members have refused to say publicly why they made the decision to end their relationship with Schultz. Mayor Irons told KSBY the names of several possible temporary candidates were discussed at the Tuesday meeting. Irons also said he expects it will take at least six months to hire a new city attorney.
