The Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday night that its annual Lighted Boat Parade won't be taking place on Saturday, December 1st. Instead, they're postponing the parade to next Saturday, December 8th.
Representatives of the Harbor Department, Chamber of Commerce, and other event organizers were all part of the decision. They say the weather forecast forced them to change their plans. Rain, high winds, and high surf conditions are expected on Saturday evening. They say they were worried about the safety of the boaters and parade viewers.
