A Morro Bay man arrested on charges of sex abuse with a child under 14, now faces dozens more counts, including sexual assault of a child 10 years or younger.

KSBY News reported earlier this week that Adam Bearden, 28, was arrested for home burglary on January 16. Also, that Morro Bay detectives launched an investigation into a report he sexually molested a child younger than 14 for at least three years.

On Thursday, the San Luis Obispo County District's office announced Bearden now faces a total of 35 counts, which is up from 16.

A judge has raised Bearden's bail from $200,000 to $1 million. If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison.

Bearden is also charged in an unrelated felony case with counts of burglary, grand theft, and receiving stolen property.
