Morro Bay's Police Chief will officially retire Friday, after 31 years in law enforcement.

Chief John Derohan was hired by the City of Morro Bay back in 2002 to replace retiring Chief Joe Loven. In 2004, he was officially sworn in as the city's sixth police chief.

Chief Derohan will be replaced by Commander Tim Olivas, who will be sworn in Monday at the city council meeting.
