A motorcycle crash backed up traffic on northbound Highway 101 near the San Luis Bay Drive offramp Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 2:15 pm.
The California Highway Patrol says a female motorcyclist crashed into the center guardrail when she reached for something and lost control. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Officers say she was wearing a helmet and full riding armor which prevented her injuries from being any worse.
They say no other vehicles were involved.
Northbound traffic was backed up all the way to Spyglass Drive while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
