(WCSH) A Florida man who set the world record for fastest speed on a motorcycle two years ago was killed Sunday morning in Limestone, Maine while trying to break that record.
A race official reported that Warner was traveling more than 270 miles per hour during a speed trial at the former Loring Air Force Base runway.
Warner was conscious and talking as he was taken away from the scene by ambulance, but was pronounced dead at Cary Medical Center in Caribou less than an hour later.
