A Santa Maria motorcyclist was hit by a car and suffered only a broken leg.

Santa Maria Police say Ernesto Fernandez, 27, was riding his Harley Davidson south in the 1400 block of Bradley in Nipomo around 7:00 p.m. Friday.

Officers say that Laurie Woodward pulled out of her driveway, right into the path of Fernandez.

Fernandez was unable to stop his motorcycle in time and collided with Woodward's car. He was thrown off his bike, breaking his leg.

Fernandez is being treated at Marian Medical Center.

No word yet on any citations issued.
