Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash in Santa Barbara

One man is taken to the hospital after a crash in Santa Barbara Tuesday morning.

Santa Barbara County Fire Crews say they were called to the 3900 blk. of State St., near the Five Points Shopping Center at about 8:30a.m. Tuesday. Officials say the 55-year-old man was driving his motorcycle on State St., when he was broadsided by another vehicle that was exiting the shopping center.

The motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
