The North County Symphony of the Vines is happening in Atasadero this weekend. The timing is perfect to help the city Celebrate it's Centennial. "Of Time's Many Waters" is a 24-minute musical walk through the founding and evolution of the City of Atascadero. It features 15 different themes corresponding with different historic eras.
The reference to water is a tip of the hat to the etymology of the word Atascadero, which comes from an archaic Spanish term meaning bog or a place where one gets stuck. Legend is that the Spanish Conquistadors struggled through marshy land in the huge meadow that would eventually be home to the City of Atascadero. Over the years the meaning of the name has been re-purposed by local promoters to connote a land of many waters
Of Time's Many Waters will be performed Saturday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m. at the Atascadero Lake Pavilion. Tickets are $30.00 and are available at the door or on-line by clicking here. A second performance is scheduled for Sunday, October 27th at the Templeton Performing Arts Center.
