LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Cal Poly men's soccer team hammered #6 UCLA in Los Angeles on Thursday, 3-0.
The mustangs, who were playing their second consecutive top 10 opponent, netted two first half goals and added a third from Chris Bernardi to complete the shocking upset.
It's the highest ranked team Poly has ever beaten in program history, and just the second versus an opponent ranked in the top 10.
UCLA entered thursday unbeaten on the season and had just earned a victory over previous number-one ranked Indiana on Sunday.
The mustangs, who improved to 2-1 on the season with the victory, return home to host Gonzaga on Sunday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
