Nail salon lamps don't cause cancer

A new study confirms that those lamps used to dry your nails after a manicure don't cause skin cancer.

There has been concern that artificial UV lamps used at nail salons were linked to a risk of keratinocyte carcinoma, the most common cancer in the U.S.

Researchers measured the wavelengths, wattage and irradiance of three different lamp models.

They determined it would take 250 years of weekly UV lamp sessions to significantly raise the risk of cancer.
