The California Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a crash near Guadalupe Tuesday as Fernando Eulogio, 20, of Santa Maria. It happened just after 5:00 PM at a curve in the road where Simas and Betteravia Roads meet. The CHP says Eulogio drove onto the road from the dirt shoulder, into the path of an SUV. The SUV driver, identified as William Bryson, 64, of Santa Maria, was unable to avoid hitting Eulogio's car. Both vehicles crashed into an agricultural ditch along the side of the road. Eulogio's car overturned and officers say he was killed in the crash. Bryson suffered moderate injuries. The CHP says there is no indication that either driver was impaired.
