The Natural History Museum in Santa Maria was a little more "alive" than usual on Saturday.
The museum hosted one of its Live! Events and brought live animals.
The museum holds the Live! Events on the first Saturday of every over month.
Board President Tahir Masood says the live animals add another element of learning to the museum that it doesn't normally provide.
The Natural History Museum is also working on a garden project to add a native plant exhibit surrounding the building.
They've raised $60,000 so far and need $20,000 more to reach their goal.
The museum hopes to do a groundbreaking in March.
