Paso Robles police are looking for the person they say shot a man in the parking lot of the Dry Creek Apartment Complex in the 1200 block of Corral Creek Avenue.
Police have not yet released the name or condition of the victim, but they say he was transported to a local hospital after the shooting.
Neighbors of the apartment complex say the victim's daughters and wife saw it happen.
"His kids were in the car," Genii Myers, resident, said. "When I came downstairs the car was parked there and you could see the babies in the back."
Some witnesses say they heard an argument between two men over a parking spot before the shot was fired.
Friends of the man say he is well-known in the community as he works at Wal-Mart in Paso Robles. They say he wasn't the type to get into such a heated argument.
"He's a really cool guy," Shane Faulkenberry, neighbor, said. "That's why this surprised me that this happened."
This incident comes as the town's second shooting in the past two days.
Friday afternoon, a drive-by shooter struck J & J's Liquor with multiple bullets.
Now, without answers, some neighbors say they're feeling unsafe.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Paso Robles Police Department or Crime Stoppers' at 549-STOP.
