NIPOMO, Calif. - Nipomo High School Track & Field standout Taylor Nevitt signed her National Letter of Intent with UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday.
The senior - who is a two-time defending Los Padres League champion in both the discus and the shotput - plans to throw for the Gauchos next year.
Nevitt said she chose UCSB because of her relationship with the coaching staff and because it was the best for her.
"I feel extremely accomplished," said Nevitt, "ever since third grade I said that I wanted to go to college and play sports and especially for it to be a Division I school, it really is a dream come true for me."
Nevitt has also competed for the Lady Titans in Basketball and Volleyball all four years at Nipomo.
The UC Santa Barbara Women's Track & Field team finished second in the Big West Championships last season.
