A new bicycle lane is now open near the Santa Maria River Bridge.
The class one lane is part of the nearly $35 million bridge widening project.
It runs next to the southbound lanes of Highway 101.
Cyclists can now ride northbound or southbound across the bridges.
Stage 3 of the Santa Maria River Bridge Project is expected to be fully completed early next year.
