Kelly Scott has been appointed to the position of Chief Deputy District Attorney for Santa Barbara County's Santa Maria office, District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced Friday afternoon. Kelly will replace retiring Chief Deputy Jerry Lulejian.
Scott brings more than eight years of experience from the Santa Barbara County Counsel's Office. She specialized in civil rights litigation and was counsel to the Sheriffs Office for the past six years.
Scott's new responsibilities, will include overseeing real estate fraud, consumer and environmental criminal and civil prosecutions countywide, and will supervise the Lompoc Office operations and other aspects of the Santa Maria office.
Scott grew up in Baton Rouge, La., and came to California to attend Pepperdine University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. She got her law degree from Pepperdine University, College of Law.
