The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department has identified the man found dead near a Nipomo field Monday as 32-year-old Pedro Gonzalez of Guadalupe. Sheriff's deputies confirm his death has been ruled a homicide.

According to a company spokesperson, the body was found on land owned by San Ysidro Farms. The company says a supervisor called authorities after his workers found the body. The company says the victim was not a San Ysidro Farms employee.
