Research has uncovered new clues to the causes of Migraine headaches.
A new study looked at the genetics of two families prone to migraines and found many had a mutation of a specific gene, or were the child of a parent with the mutation.
Experts say the mutation affects the body's production of a certain enzyme that performs an important function in the brain. They believe this gene is not the only one to be linked to migraines, but it's just the first to be discovered. Migraine headaches affect between 10 to 20 percent of the population.
