New genetic research could improve high blood pressure treatment

New genetic research could improve high blood pressure treatment.

Scientists identified 11 new genes linked to blood pressure.

Most of the genes can be targeted with drugs that already exist or that are in development.

Researchers say the findings are encouraging because not all patients respond well to the medications that are currently available, and some people need three or more drugs to control their blood pressure.
