New Morro Bay Police Chief to be sworn in Monday night

The City of Morro Bay will officially have a new police chief.

Commander Tim Olivas will be sworn in as the city's police chief at Monday's city council meeting. On Friday, Chief John Derohan officially retired after 31 years in law enforcement.

Chief Derohan was hired by the City of Morro Bay in 2002, and was sworn in as Morro Bay's sixth police chief in 2004.
