A new work of art in San Luis Obispo has people talking.

The 12-foot sculpture is called "Oh Great Spirit" and it depicts an American Indian standing at the corner of Prado Road and South Higuera Streets.

The Ernst family of San Luis Obispo commissioned Nell Scruggs of Westlake Village to create the sculpture. The family then donated the statue to the city. It was built at Genesis Bronze in Paso Robles.
