A new Johns Hopkins study reveals daily meditation can help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Meditation isn't used in most mainstream medical practices, but researchers looked at patients with different physical and mental health issues and found meditation worked as well as anti-depressants in some cases.
Researchers say 30 to 40 minutes of "mindful meditation" each day also seemed to help control chronic pain and stress.
More studies are needed to clarify the findings.
Researchers say there were no negative effects from meditation.
