A new study examines which teenagers might experience anxiety and mood swings after a concussion.
The study from the University of Kentucky was small. Just 37 teen athletes who had had a concussion were studied.
Researchers found teens who experienced sensitivity to light and noise during their recovery were more likely to develop emotional symptoms, including irritability, moodiness, depression, and apathy.
Researchers say the findings are preliminary, but might shed light on the best ways to treat teens.
