Santa Maria High School Administrators have implemented a new tardy policy to improve student performance.
Those who don't show up to class on time will be taken to a detention area or pick up trash around campus. They will also miss their entire class period. School leaders say they've already cut down on the number of students late to class. The school says a majority of parents are also happy with the policy.
It's all part of an ongoing effort of the new principal and assistant principal to boost the school's reputation.
Watch KSBY News at 5 and 6 tonight for a comprehensive look at the new policy.
