A new tool is helping Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies and the public track down suspected criminals who skip out on their court dates. It's called the Top Ten Active Warrants webpage. It first launched in November on the county sheriff's website. Officers say the site has already led to three arrests, including one yesterday. A deputy interviewing a woman about a burglary recognized her from the webpage. The sheriff's office says there are nearly 20,000 active warrants for people in Santa Barbara County.
