INDUSTRY, Calif. (AP) - Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a newborn baby girl found in a waste collection firm's Southern California recycling yard.
City News Service says the body was found Monday afternoon on a conveyer belt at Athens Services in Industry.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Kim Manatt says an autopsy will be performed to determine if the baby was born alive.
Manatt says the baby appeared to have been full term and in good health.
Athens Services is a waste collection and recycling company that has trash and recyclable collection contracts with several communities.
