The Atascadero City Fire Department unveiled its newest tool to help people in emergencies
Its called the disaster response trailer and its a mobile unit designed to maximize the effectiveness of rescue teams.
During the past 16 months volunteers helped put the trailer together.
Atascadero Fire Chief Kurt Stone said the DRT means firefighters can arrive on scene with the materials and tools to quickly address emergency and rescue situations throughout our county.
The unveiling ceremony was held at the Atascadero City Hall Tuesday evening.
The fire department brought in around $100,000 of donations to pay for the trailer.
