Santa Maria Police say a ninth person has been arrested in connection to the murder of Anthony Ibarra.
Police arrested Verenisa Castillo Aviles, 19, of Santa Maria on Monday on an unrelated matter. Tuesday, police added murder and gang-enhancement charges associated with Ibarra's death.
Aviles is being held on a no-bail warrant in the Santa Barbara County Jail.
Ibarra's body was found in the back of a U-Haul truck parked on an Orcutt street on March 19.
Police said Ibarra was actually killed two days before his body was found. They said he was tortured for hours before finally being stabbed to death.
Investigators are not saying much about a motive for the killing, but do say gangs and drugs were involved.
Eight other people were arrested in connection with Ibarra's murder - Ramon Maldonado, Reyes Gonzales, Jr., Santos Sauceda, Anthony Solis, Robert Sosa, David Maldonado, Jr., Carmen Cardenas, and Pedro Torres, Jr.
