Nipomo High softball star Courtney Cuzick has been honored for her titanic achievements during her junior season. The senior-to-be was one of thirty girls named to Cal-Hi Sports' All-State Underclass Team. The ESPNHS affiliate honored the top non-seniors in the state.
Cuzick was one of eight players named to the First Team as pitchers. She was instrumental in Nipomo capturing its first outright Los Padres League title and first trip to the C.I.F. Semifinals.
Courtney went 18-8 in the circle. She threw 177 2/3 innings and allowed just 108 hits with a 0.79 ERA. Her 305 strikeouts ranked #6 in the state and #29 in the United States this year.
She also hit .487 at the plate with 3 home runs, 21 RBI and a .602 on-base percentage.
Cuzick has verbally committed to play at Bucknell University.
