ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The U.S. Marshals Service says a New Mexico fugitive has been apprehended in California after 20 years on the run that included using seven aliases and three Social Security numbers.
The Marshals Service's office in Albuquerque says Brian Washington was arrested Monday after a deputy marshal reviewing cold cases discovered that Washington was living under an alias in Los Angeles.
According to the Marshals Service, Washington moved frequently from state to state after becoming a fugitive in August 1992 for violating probation on a conviction for distribution of crack cocaine.
The service says it discovered that Washington was arrested three times while a fugitive but that his identity wasn't discovered because he was released without being fingerprinted.
