April 20th, also known as 4-20, is a day some people have chosen to dedicate to celebrating marijuana.
In anticipation of the so-called holiday, local law enforcement took to Shell Beach.
Officers had heard reports of a possible party taking place there.
Police were worried there would be a party similar to the one that has happened in the past in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.
As of 6 p.m. Saturday, Pismo Beach Police hadn't made any arrests, and they said everyone on the beach was behaving well and cooperating.
