No injuries or major damage reported in Santa Maria warehouse fire

Santa Barbara County Fire Department officials say there have been no reports of injuries or major damage following a fire at a warehouse in Santa Maria.

A fire broke out in the back of Sun Grove Warehouse in the 2100 block of Stinton Road around 3:15 p.m. Sunday. It started in a small area that contained peat moss, which is a product the warehouse company uses for agricultural purposes.

Officials say the fire was put out by a sprinkler system in the building.

The cause of the fire has not been officially determined, but an official at the scene said it was likely an accident. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department has not sent an investigator to the scene. Officials say the warehouse company might oversee the investigation.
