San Luis Obispo City Fire Officials say no one was injured in a house fire that broke out in a residential neighborhood Sunday night.
It happened in the 4300 block of Vachell Lane. Firefighters got a call about a garage fire with flames showing at 7:13 p.m. They arrived at the scene six minutes later and found that the fire had spread to the house.
Fire crews immediately began to hose it down.
Two homes were effected. They say the fire started in a garage located between two houses. There was extensive damage to the home connected to the garage, and the home next door was also damaged.
Four men in their early 20's live in the home where the fire started. A few of them are students at Cuesta College. A family with two babies lives next door. Everyone was able to escape without injuries.
Officials say the homes are no longer safe to live in. They don't know exactly how much damage was done.
At the scene, one of the homeowners mentioned that they think it might have been an electrical issue that started the fire.
