No known environmental damage produced by oil spill

The oil spill that occurred at Greka Energy on Dominion Road in Santa Maria Monday morning did not cause any known environmental damage.

At about 9:16a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire responded to a spill of 5 gallons of crude oil and 100 barrels of produced water at the oil lease facility.

The spill was reported to be within secondary containment. County fire is on the scene along with representatives from Greka, the Department of Fish and Game, and County Petroleum.
