The Morro Bay Fire Department responded to the Embarcadero Friday night after a boat that was docked at the Morro Bay Yacht Club caught on fire.
It happened around 11:10 p.m.
Two people were on the boat and were woken up by the flames, but they were able to get out unharmed.
Crews were able to control the flames within an hour, but clean-up took an extra two-and-a-half hours.
Officials completed their investigation early Saturday morning.
They say the fire was accidental, but they do not know how it started.
The owners of the boat said they had been experiencing some electrical issues on Friday.
Crews from the Morro Bay Fire Department, the Harbor Patrol, The Morro Bay Police Department, Cal Fire, and the US Coast Guard all responded.
No injuries were reported.
