This issue's professional: Darrell Redleaf is a stylist for film, TV, and fashion magazines who has worked with top stars including Joss Stone, Scarlett Johannson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz.
Question: I asked my stylist to dye my blond hair dark brown, and she said no! She said it's too hard to reverse-dye hair from light to dark. Is she right?
Answer:You have to consult with your stylist for the best shade of dark hair for you. A lot of "bottle" blondes don't have naturally brown hair; they have a very dark blond or light brown color. If you're naturally blonde, going true dark brown can look too startling or even goth. If that's the look you're going for, ask your stylist to use semi-permanent colors. This way, it's not as big of a commitment.
