A hazmat scare in Pismo Beach closes a road there for hours. But in the end, it was just a false alarm. Cal Fire reported a 55 gallon barrel was found with an unknown substance. It was discovered at the end of Frady Road behind the wastewater treatment plant around 8:30 Tuesday morning. Crews arrived on scene to take samples and determine if it was a risk to the public. They spent three hours working on this hazmat situation. They also blocked access to Frady Road as a precaution. Turns out, that substance contained only non-toxic waste water. KSBY News Reporter Monica Quintero will have more on this story and a live report on KSBY News at 6.
