Northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Santa Maria Bridge blocked

The California Highway Patrol is currently on scene near the Santa Maria Bridge on the northbound side of Highway 101.
The CHP says a big rig is jackknifed blocking both lanes.
Jackknifing happens when a large big rig and its trailer go into a skid and the trailer swings out and stops to form a 90 degree angle.
CHP says traffic in the southbound lanes has slowed as well.
