Dogtoberfest takes over Atascadero Lake Park

It was all about dogs in Atascadero Saturday. The third annual Dogtoberfest took over Atascadero Lake Park Saturday afternoon. The day's activities included raffles, a barbecue, wiener dog races, and even a costume contest. The event also doubles as a fundraiser for the Heilmann Dog Park in Atascadero and the Vineyard Dog Park in Templeton.
"So that we can do maintenance, so we can improve the parks for the dog's safety and people's enjoyment," said Jan Wolff, an organizer of Saturday's event. "Dog waste bags are not cheap, we buy a lot of them."
