MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - The Secret Service has questioned a Southern California homeowner about a front yard effigy of President Barack Obama hanging from a noose.
Eddie Million insists it was a harmless Halloween decoration. He bought an Obama mask and put it on a human-like figure and strung it by rope from a tree outside his Moreno Valley home.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/WHWJFm ) says neighbors were upset and news reporters showed up.
Police officers arrived on Monday and the effigy was taken down.
Secret Service agents knocked on the door Tuesday and Million was questioned.
Agents wouldn't talk to reporters.
Million says he was told the effigy could have been construed as a threat to the president and his name is now on file.
Million says he simply thought a noose was scary.
