WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama is opening a three-day trip to the West Coast on Wednesday with a town hall at Facebook headquarters.
Obama's trip, which will includes stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Reno, Nev., is aimed at building support for his deficit-reduction agenda. Obama is pitching a plan that would reduce the deficit by $4 trillion over 12 years through a combination of spending cuts and tax increases on the rich.
With his re-election campaign under way, Obama's trip also will focus on raising money for his 2012 bid. Obama's fundraising efforts will be aimed at both high-dollar donors and young people.
The president is due back in Washington on Friday.
