WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama will use his first White House appearance since the election to tell Congress to do something to avoid a fiscal cliff - the potentially economy-crippling set of tax increases and automatic spending cuts due to hit in January.
Negotiations with Republicans are coming up, but the GOP has made it clear that it is not interested in raising taxes for the wealthy.
