GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (AP) A 62-year-old man reporting a violent home invasion was arrested by authorities for allegedly growing illegal marijuana plants.
Garden Grove Police Department Lt. Jeff Nightengale says several people burst into the home of Dennis Edgar Chailland around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
The robbers allegedly pistol-whipped and bound people inside the home before stealing a laptop computer, an iPod and a wallet with cash. The suspects fled before police arrived.
Nightengale says more than 60 marijuana plants were found growing on the property. Chailland was arrested and booked at Orange County Jail on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana.
