All eyes were on the sky in Oceano where an airport celebration day was underway this morning. Families came out to see CHP, Cal Star, Fire and Angel Flight Aircraft.

Organizers say they want the community to understand the value of general aviation airports.

"Of course this is a very unique airport because we are steps away from the Pacific ocean," said Jolie Lucas, a member of Friends of Oceano Airport. "Folks can fly in, they can camp in our campground, and use our restaurants and they can rent an ATV."

The future of the Oceano Airport has been a hot topic among community members.

A local developer wants to close the airport and build on the land.
