Ode to Tomato Festival in Pismo Beach continues with Bloody Mary competition

Locals are celebrating all things tomato this month. The Ode to Tomato Festival continued Sunday in Pismo Beach. Restaurants from throughout the Central Coast were out serving multi-course tomato inspired meals and drinks. On Sunday, there was even a Bloody Mary contest, and KSBY's Jeanette Trompeter was one of the judges. "I use heirloom tomatoes and a little bit of golden tomatoes as well, always a good mix of spices. Not too spicy, a little bit spicy ,and then some people just like a little twist. You know, with ours we throw in a little cool garnish," said Andrew Etteddgee, a bartender at Rosa's Italian Restaurant. "We use Petit Syrah in it to give it a little West Coast flare," said Jeff Whittaker, the Beverage Director for Cliff's Resort. The festival continues until next Sunday.
