Officers identify 1 bicyclist involved in deadly Morro Bay crash

One of the bicyclists involved in a deadly crash in Morro Bay Monday has been identified as Bradley Cummins, 60, of Los Osos.

The California Highway Patrol says Cummins was riding on southbound Highway 1 with another bicyclist around 11:30 a.m. when 29 year-old Jessica Goddard, of Cayucos, hit the two cyclists from behind just south of the Main Street overpass.

Cummins was taken to a local hospital with major injuries before being taken to another hospital out of the area.

The other cyclist, a 65-year-old man from Los Osos, died at the scene. His name has not been released.

Goddard was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of felony DUI causing injury and/or death along with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and reckless driving.
