The Paso Robles Police Department is asking for help from the public to track down the people responsible for attempting to rob a local hotel at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.
Officers say they received several 911 calls just before 2:00 a.m. Tuesday from the Holiday Inn Express at 2455 Riverside Avenue regarding an armed robbery in progress. Witnesses day two men confronted a hotel guest in the lobby and one of the men demanded the guest go back to his room to get his valuables. The other man then jumped over the front desk to find the desk clerk. Witnesses say the suspects were armed with a shotgun and a handgun and were wearing masks, gloves and hooded sweatshirts.
The men ran off without taking anything before police arrived. No one was injured. Officers searched the area but couldn't find the men.
The suspects are described as Hispanic male adults, 5'10" to 6' tall with medium builds, weighing around 200 pounds. Witnesses say they were in their 20s.
