Fire officials say they now know what sparked a brush fire at the base of the Cuesta Grade Sunday.
CAL FIRE says a brake component off of a vehicle started the 10-acre fire.
The fire broke out Sunday just before noon on the southbound side of Highway 101.
The California Highway Patrol closed one lane of the highway during the fire, causing traffic to back up in the area.
CAL FIRE says issues like Sunday's that started the fire are a fairly common occurrence with vehicles traveling down the grade.
At this time, they say no one will be fined.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
