Officials say a 15-year-old from Goleta was killed by a freight train Friday night.
His name has not been released because he is a juvenile and the investigation is ongoing.
Officials say the teenager was hit head on by a freight train headed eastbound near Highway 101 and Kellogg Avenue in Goleta.
It happened around 7:15 p.m.
His family has been notified.
The Santa Barbara County Coroner's Office is investigating the incident.
